The 44th Sakuradakai Award Ceremony

On January 21, Sakuradakai Foundation held the 44th Sakuradakai Political Research Awards Ceremony and Political Research Grant Presentation Ceremony at the Mitsubishi Club in Marunouchi, Tokyo.

Nobuhiko Tamaki, Professor of Chuo University’s Faculty of Law, recipient of the Sakuradakai Gold Medal for Political Research, and the Encouragement Award recipients were presented with certificates and medals by Masahiko Masuda, president of Sakuradakai. Certificates were also presented to the researchers receiving the Political Research Grants. Attendees included members of the Selection Committee, deans from the eight designated universities, guests, and Sakurada-kai associates, totaling 55 participants.

Following the ceremony, Akira Nakamura, Professor Emeritus of Meiji University, Chair of the Selection Committee, delivered remarks. Junichi Saito professor of Waseda University gave a lecture titled “Concepts to Replace Democracy,” and Ken Tsutsumibayashi, professor of Keio University reported on the Sakuradakai Centennial Project.

The subsequent reception saw participants gathered around tables, engaging in friendly conversation.

Sakuradakai will continue to contribute to the advancement of political science through its initiatives, collaborating with political researchers, as it looks toward its 100th anniversary in 2034.
